Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy: A Book Review

Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy by Nancy McWilliams

Another great book from McWilliams, that all beginning and aspiring therapists should read.  Here, McWilliams explores the basic principles and core beliefs that make up the foundation for doing psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.  She touches on everything from techniques, to setting boundaries, to restorative self-care practices.  Not only is this work grounded in theory, as her other works are, but also in her years of experience and wisdom.  It’s a quick and easy to understand read, and one that anyone interested in psychoanalysis would love.
